An installation of coats and djellabas commissioned by Stichting Art and the City for “Het Digitale Bos”, a project of Dutch artist Francisca Rosner in the quarter Bos en Lommer in Amsterdam (2009). The work is based on conversations with Turkish and Moroccan women who live in this quarter. The word ‘home’ is embroidered in Dutch, Arabic and Turkish on Moroccan djellabas and Turkish coats. Half of the djellabas and coats were bought in Bos en Lommer and half are duplicates in fabrics that symbolise typical Dutch things like tulips, grass, the colour orange and Delfts blue.
